International Cultural Leadership, or ICL, is a unique program offered by RMIT University Business and KAPE Communications. The program runs over five days in Melbourne, Australiaユs most cosmopolitan and multicultural city, followed by six months on-line discussion.

ICL is an outcome of the successful Multicultural Arts Professional Development or MAPD program managed by the Australia Council for the Arts, the Australian Multicultural Foundation, RMIT University Business and KAPE Communications.

ICL is tailored to new the emerging global cultural industry and those wishing to extend their skills in cultural leadership, cultural marketing and cultural tourism.

China, Korea and Japan are nations with diverse and ancient cultural traditions, festivals, artists and arts producers yet few of these excellent traditions are marketed to an international audience. It is the role of regional and local officials to promote the uniqueness and excitement of these traditions, the long heritage and its impact on contemporary arts, new venues and ancient festivals to a growing international cultural tourism sector.

The cultural sector is the second largest industry in the world after petroleum and one which will keep growing. Melbourne, Australiaユs cultural centre has excellent international arts festivals, music events, a range of multicultural communities with their diverse cuisines and festivals. ICL brings together experts in the area of organisational leadership, cultural brokerage, arts management, arts and cultural tourism marketing.
